Task
The task assigned to us by the customer was clear, but also demanding. read more
In order to respond to the needs of both brands, Braun and Philips, and to adjust the project to the requirements of retail shops, it was necessary to devise a countertop display that would serve the purpose of presenting two separate, competing brands, highlighting in a clear manner the advantages of each.
The result? We have satisfied the expectations of three independent brands: Braun, Philips, and the consumer electronics retail chain, not forgetting that each of our designs is developed in order for the onlookers to perceive the products as exactly what they are looking for and what they need. What was our approach, in detail? Listen!
Solution
In this project we focused on three aspects: universality, demonstrating the functionality of the electric razors, and maintaining the visual identification of the products’ brands.
We were aware that the countertop display has to offer the possibility to juggle the brands without unnecessary effort. Therefore, we decided to use such elements in the project that guarantee a direct substituting of the graphic elements.
When the elements are introduced, the products, combined with the countertop display, gain even better expressiveness.
About the technology
The knowledge of the opportunities offered by the material. The awareness what individual technologies guarantee. These are the pillars of the design that is supposed to respond to customer needs. In this project, we have used a modular structure of the display, made of plastic and white, illuminated Plexiglas sheet. The product description is printed on a magnetic mat, which allows its quick replacement. The neutral colors of the display do not bring associations with any particular brand. The replaceable graphics and the modular structure, due to its separate base, make the adjusting of the display to either of the brands very easy. The identification of a version is possible thanks to a small color detail (a strip) and the logo printed on the base. The display also has a space for a price tag.
We look for smart solutions
This project was a lesson to us that creating universal solutions is not equal with giving up such elements that are interesting and attractive, but, above all, strongly affects the perception of the elements.
01
Modification - economical product replacement thanks to the form of the shelf-top display
02
Simplification - resignation from unnecessary elements leading to the recipients’ better concentration on the product and easier interaction with them
03
Highlighting - backlight under the product and the base draws the attention while not overwhelming the perception of the product
04
Universality - the neutral color matches any product placed on the shelf-top display
05
Safety - the shelf-top display has a built-in anti-shoplifting protection that prevents the product from being removed
06
Communication - the information space has been placed in a manner thanks to which the reading of the communications is very easy
